Tips to Help Save Fuel with the Soaring Gas Prices



With the price of gas steadily rising in price over the past few months and rumors of g as getting even higher in price, here's some valuable tips to help you conserve fuel when driving and offset soaring gas prices.

1. Keep Tires properly inflated tires under 2 PSI increases fuel consumption by one percent.
2. Keep Car regularly mainted: Cars that are poorly maintained cause poor fuel economy and use more gas.
3. Avoid overloading your trunk and pack lightly on trips.

5. Plan all your trips for the week or day to avoid using fuel.

13. Shell fuel stations offer the Air Miles rewards program where you can earn airmiles and then redeem for gift certificates for more gas.
14. For Shell users, BMO mastercard is offering FREE $50 with your first purchase of $20 or more at Shell. That's $30 in FREE fuel!
15. If you shop at Refuel stations (part of No Frills grocery stores) save your receipts and then present them when you shop at No Frills and save a little off your grocery bill for each receipt presented.
16. If you like to shop at Canadian Tire fuel stations, then make sure you utilize the BONUS coupon on the flyer to get extra Canadian Tire Money! Lots of times you can earn up to 10X the CTC money. Plus once you save up $25 in CTC money, bring it to the store and purchase a gift card with it and then use it to purchase your fuel.
17. Use your Aeroplan card at Esso stations to get bonus points with each fill up. Plus you can get Esso Extra points too!
18. Use you cruise control, so that you maintain a steady even speed. This will help reduce excessive fuel consumption from frequently accelerating and decelertating.
19. The Real Canadian Superstore offers a discount of 4-5 cents per litre.
